The Acupuncture Treatment of Conjunctivitis

Chief Complaint: redness and swelling in the palpebral and hyperemia of bular conjunctivas,

Western Diagnosis: Acute conjunctivitis

Medical History: There’s no obvious cause resulted in the disease. The only diet habit of the patient is spicy food.

Questioning exam: The patient have headache, fever and aversion to wind together.

Pulse exam: The pulse is a floating and rapid one.

Tongue exam: The tongue coating is thin and yellow.

OM Diagnosis: Wind-heat pattern

Treatment Principle: Eliminate wind-heat and relieve swelling to ease pain.

Point Prescription: Acupoints selected:
The first treatment:Hegu(LI4),Taichong
(L3), Waiguan(SJ5).
The second treatment:Hegu(LI4),Taichong
(L3), Quchi(LI11).
The last treatment:Hegu(LI4),xingjian
(L2), Quchi(LI11).

Results: Good! The patient was cured completely after three acupuncture treatments.
